Get into hockey in 2016

Are your kids looking for a fun sport that helps them keep fit in 2016? The Falcons are running a pre-season junior "come & try" day on Mar 4 2016 4:30-5:30 at the University of Wollongong hockey field. It's a great opportunity to learn more about hockey, and meet the people involved in the sport. It's free to attend and there's even a lolly bag & drink for the kids. Please Register with our Junior Coordinator if you'd like to come along.

Equipment required to start hockey

While it might seem overwhelming, there really isn't much required to get started at hockey.

Kids can start playing from approx. 7 years - they require a hockey stick and some basic safety equipment - a mouthguard and shin pads. Combine these with some running shoes and you have everything you need to get started.

We supply the kids jerseys and they can buy shorts + socks from the club for very reasonable prices.

We have a great hockey shop in Wollongong at the Unanderra Hockey Stadium - they have kids starter packs containing all the required equipment for $30.
